2/F Whitespace Gallery, 1/8-9 Saladaeng soi 1, Silom, Bangrak, Bangkok
MRT Route MRT Lumphini
The curtains have gone up in a new movie theatre on Saladaeng Soi 1. Bangkok Screening Room or BKKSR is a dream come true for many local independent filmmakers. This small theatre is the brainchild of Sarinya “Mew” Manamuti, Wongsarond “Menn” Suthikulpanich and Nicholas Hudson-Ellis, who wish to fill in a gap in the market by rolling out legendary classics, indie gems and movies by local emerging directors. Take in a few bites before camping down in one of the plushy reclining seats in the 52-seat theater (they use 4K digital projection, by the way). You’ll see a bar as soon as you enter, sitting under a brightly lit billboard designed by Menn, one of the partners and the design director of Armonia Group. Buy a beer or a cocktail and enjoy a short chat with the owners.
Truffle Popcorn , Larb Wonton , Spaghetti Northern Sausage , Pulled Pork Sliders
Cost per head
Never been there for a watch though, but we love the vibe, the location, the interior and their Larb Wonton. The ticket price is B300 but every 50% of it is directly gone to those filmmakers. 👏🏼👏🏼Rating : 4.5
